Detectives Goren and Eames investigate the shooting of a young asian woman who was shopping in Chinatown with her two young children. Soon the detectives are on the trail of two con-artists, forged documentation, a failed actor and an antique collector who may all be involved in smuggling a special chinese artifact that one of the group wanted more than life itself.

Un-aired Episode?
According to this site There should of been 17 episodes in Series 8 and not 16, although it was apparently dismissed by some people on the web as a hoax it looks like there was an episode named "Ashes of Time" and it wasn't commissioned by USA much like ITV didn't commission all 13 of the episodes of L&O:UK *although in some parts of the world, other channels commisioned all 13!
So what happened to this episode, which was more than likely a Goren and Eames and slated for a finale episode and will it ever be released [perhaps on the DVD]?
* Amended update -L&O UK is going to air the last 6 episodes from 11 January on ITV 1 which coincides with the DVD release ( which apparently only has the first 7 episodes
-maybe there will be a second dvd with the last 6)
